Chugack Whistle Stop Service out of Anchorage or Portage, Alaska

The Glacier Discovery Train travels from Anchorage south along Turnagain Arm. Passengers can visit Whittier for glacier cruises or head to Spencer Lake for canoe tours, rafting, and hiking. As an option, guests can choose to continue into the alpine regions of the Chugack Mountains for scenic tours of Grandview, the tunnel section, and the historic loop district. This train can also be boarded in Portage, Alaska, with lots of Free Parking! Portage is one (1) hour out of Anchorage is a great stop before heading to the Kenai Peninsula. The tour from Portage runs from 1:30pm to 5:30pm.
