UNALASKA DUTCH HARBOR, ALASKA |
Destination: Unalaska Dutch Harbor bed and breakfast—the best accommodations a weary traveler can look forward to when vacationing on Unalaska Island along the Aleutian Chain. The port of Dutch Harbor is located within the city limits of Unalaska, which means “this great land,” and is the eleventh largest city in Alaska. It’s all about the fish here in this town—fleet services, processing, and the commercial fishing itself. Visitors to Alaska will find that there are daily flights available from Unalaska to the city of Anchorage, 800 miles away. Check out the Museum of the Aleutians, or see the Russian Orthodox Church of the Holy Ascension of Christ. Built in 1825, this is the oldest cruciform-style church in North America, and is being restored after near-destruction during the Second World War. And don’t forget to stop and smell the roses! The abundant floral life on the island will make for a pleasant memory. We look forward to seeing you at one of our BBAA inns here at Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
