Enjoy a True Wilderness Getaway

Located on a fork of the Koyukuk River near the Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve, this is just the place for the wilderness seeker. When you choose lodging at a bed and breakfast in Wiseman, Alaska you will not only experience nature, but you will also find the warm hospitality that only our innkeepers can provide. Welcome to the Far North!

As one of the main Interior Athabaskan villages, Wiseman has a proud history and heritage. Ask your BBAA innkeeper about things to see and do in the Wiseman area, or if they can suggest someone local to talk with about native crafts such as beading.

Just 230 miles north on the Dalton Highway is the Arctic Ocean! Or, if time or inclination doesn’t take you that far, you can always take your photo at the sign at the Arctic Circle and ask the park service for your Arctic Circle certificate. And definitely keep your eyes open at night. This far north, the chances of seeing the Aurora Borealis are better than in the more southern towns.

Yes, a warm respite at a BBAA member inn is just what the wilderness explorer needs here in the northern part of the state. We hope you will enjoy your stay!
