Your Natural Escape with City Conveniences

Whether you are looking for a peaceful getaway, or access to activities in the city, you can have both when you choose lodging at a bed and breakfast in Douglas, Alaska. Relax in our peaceful community, or cross the short bridge to downtown Juneau, right across the Gastineau Channel and join the bustle of the city, made even more exciting when the huge cruise ships dock there.

If you choose to get away from the city, the nearby Tongass National Forest, covering almost 17 million acres, is the largest national forest in the United States. Recreational activities in this northern rainforest include kayaking, hiking, caving, glacier cruises, fishing, wildlife viewing, and more. Eaglecrest Ski Area offers downhill and Nordic skiing, tubing, and snowboarding. Admiralty Island National Monument to the south offers great primitive recreation including fishing, wildlife, and canoeing.

Just a short drive onto the mainland and south of downtown Juneau is the Mount Roberts Tramway, on which you can travel 1800 feet up Mount Roberts. Here you will witness one of the most spectacular views in the entire Inside Passage.

No matter where you explore, whether on the Islands or on the mainland, there is plenty to see and do along the way. Your cozy BBAA member inn accommodations will await your return for a restful night.
