How to Apply
The Bed and Breakfast Association of Alaska offers five (5) levels of membership. These levels are described under Membership Types and designed to meet your needs. Join us! We look forward to your membership.
There are two ways to apply for membership in BBAA. You can apply online and pay by check, money order or Paypal, or you can download the membership form, complete it offline, and send it to us.

Existing Bed and Breakfast Association of Alaska members
– for existing members to log in to the member maintenance site and renew your membership using a credit card through Paypal. I agree to be personally responsible for ensuring that all information regarding my listing with BBAA is factual and complete.

New Regular Membership – for B&Bs that belong to a local association
New At Large Membership – for B&Bs that do not belong to any local association
New or Renewing Associate Membership – for associated businesses that are not B&Bs
New or Renewing B&B Associations Membership – regional associations use this form
Membership Types
1. Regular Membership is restricted to those B&B/Inns that are members of a local B&B association registered with BBAA that have met the membership requirements established by the board.
2. Member at Large are those B&B/Inns that are not members of a local B&B association registered with BBAA. These B&B's must complete a self-initiated peer review.
3. Associate Membership may be extended to organizations, businesses or individuals not qualified for regular or Member-at-Large membership. Associate membership criteria and member benefits may be established by the Board of Directors. These persons must be involved in the B&B industry and have shown a sincere interest in same. Associate members will have no vote in the conduct of business.
4. Local B&B Association Membership is extended to regional B&B Associations. In order for a regional association to apply to become a member of BBAA, the association must have at least five members, Articles of Incorporation, and a set of by-laws. Members of an approved regional association may apply to BBAA as a regular member.
5. Honorary Membership offers special recognition. Honorary membership criteria and member benefits may be established by the Board of Directors. Honorary members will have no vote in the conduct of business, will not use the BBAA Logo and will not pay dues. Email the Membership Chair for information about Honorary Membership
Our Policies
The Bed and Breakfast Association of Alaska encourages the highest standards. To this end, all members must understand, agree and comply with the Bed and Breakfast Association of Alaska Code of Conduct.
Bed and Breakfast Association of Alaska Code of Conduct
· The BBAA was established to maintain and encourage high standards of safety, quality assurance and service.
· To broaden public awareness, understanding and appreciation of the Bed and Breakfast industry in Alaska.
· To cooperate with other groups who advance the interests of the B&B industry.
All BBAA members pledge themselves to conduct their business activities in accordance with the following principles of the BBAA Code of Conduct.
1. Accuracy. BBAA members shall be factual and accurate when providing information about their services. They shall not use deceptive practices but act at all times with integrity and in all transactions, avoiding the use of confusing and misleading terms, descriptions and claims.
2. Compliance. BBAA members shall maintain the bed and breakfast establishment in a clean and safe operating condition as per the BBAA inspection guidelines and membership requirements.
3. Cooperation. BBAA members shall cooperate with any inquiry conducted by the BBAA board to resolve any disputes involving guests and/or other members.
4. Professionalism. BBAA members shall act with professionalism to enhance the prestige of the industry and this organization. BBAA members shall not engage in improper, illegal, or unethical business practices or procedures.
5. Responsibility. BBAA members shall provide hospitality to guests, educate fellow members and the general public about the bed and breakfast industry and strive to increase their own level of competence.
